FOX analyst Nick Wright refused to accept Tyreek Hill as the NFL’s No 1 player when Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won Super Bowl, and was the MVP in 2023.

Nick Wright has taken issue with the NFL Network picking Tyreek Hill as the NFL’s best player in 2023. In Wright’s view, that title belongs to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
On Friday, NFL Network eventually disclosed their Top 10 players list with a few surprises. However, football fans on social media lost it when they saw who finished first.
It was none other than Miami Dolphins All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill. The 30-year-old’s stats since moving down south made a great case for his inclusion as the #1.
Hill went back-to-back seasons with 119 receptions and more than 3500 receiving yards (led the league with 1799 yards in 2023). Even though the numbers screamed elite, he did not win the Offensive Player of the Year award, which went to the San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
So, it genuinely surprised football fans that Hill was named the best football player. Nick Wright was one of the torchbearers who preached Patrick Mahomes deserved the accolade more and not the Dolphins 8-time Pro Bowler.
Wright, who is famous for being a Chiefs fan, tweeted out in favor of Mahomes, dropping some stats to prove his point.
The veteran FOX analyst rightfully mentioned that Hill failed to beat Mahomes on the first hurdle last year, and the 28-year-old went on to beat the remaining competition, including Ravens Lamar Jackson in the AFC Championship game and McCaffrey in the Super Bowl.
Ever since he swapped the Chiefs for the Dolphins in 2022, Wright has had his eyes on Hill. He hardly ever lets slip any fault from the wideout—whether it’s his innovative celebrations or becoming a father almost a dozen times.
So when Wright found out that Mahomes had been snubbed for the top spot for Hill, he had to react. Following his tweet, Hill dropped a cheeky dig addressed toward him.
It’s easy to guess the subject matter of the next episode of FS1’s First Things First on Saturday morning. Judging by his comments, Hill will also tune into the show as well.
