Patrick Mahomes is having a year he probably never imagined. Second straight Super Bowl, having the time of his life with his family, jetting across half the world for concerts, vacations and sporting events.
Now, with the news of him and his wife Brittany Mahomes expecting their third child, it has added that extra bit of joy. But despite all that, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback will probably take it easy going forward.
On Tuesday, Patrick Mahomes revealed his stance when reporters asked him at the Chiefs facilities about his family life with the latest announcement. He had a smile on his face while talking about this new development in his life.
He did reveal that he had originally planned to have three kids. Now that Brittany Mahomes is pregnant with their third child, he will focus on nurturing his family rather than try for a fourth child. After all, more than him, it will be his wife who will have to do most of the work.
Now he has a clear understanding of how he and his family will be going forward. With that set, his focus will be solely to prepare for the upcoming season. They all have the same focus. That is to become the first franchise in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
Starting this Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will start their official fully kitted practice sessions. These sessions will focus on helping the rookies get a feel of the physicality of the NFL. While also giving the rest of the signings reps to learn the Chiefs playbook. The 15 sessions from Sunday up until the first preseason game will be crucial.
Everyone will be working on getting their assignments and adjustments as per what the coaches want. At the same time, they have to bring their skills to the forefront for the coaches to know what they can use to exploit in games. Patrick Mahomes and his fellow core teammates will make it easier for the newbies. Undoubtedly no other team in the NFL has a core that has the experience of winning three Super Bowls.
Now to win their third straight, Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones and head coach Andy Reid will be pushing the new members to get to their level quickly. With all the contenders making major roster upgrades, the Chiefs cannot wait for the team to take their time to gel.
